Birthday Party
While performing at a birthday party we were pleasantly surprised that many of the teens not only knew the classics (60's & 70's rock) but also enjoyed singing and dancing to them. One particularly enthusiastic boy came up to us and shouted the following compliment:
"For a bunch of old guys, you rock!" (Note: We're still a lot younger than Mick Jagger)

Mazomanie / Madison Garden Party
The ABB’s summer 05 tour included a housewarming party in a small town 20 miles NW of Madison. A cross between Woodstock and a Donald Trump Garden Party, we played in a spacious back yard sprawling with tents, lawn chairs, and a fire pit. At the end of the night our gracious host and hostess came to thank us and tell us what a great time everyone had. As we were just about to leave, our host yells out:
"Average Basement Band ... my A**!"

"Your band was great, wonderful, fantastic. I loved hearing it playing in my yard. I cannot tell you how many people have asked if we would please make this an annual thing. They all had a blast!"

Anniversary / Graduation Party
Once, during our break, a woman commented that we played a variety of songs that other bands didn’t play. She said it was reminiscent of days gone by, driving along in her '67 Mustang convertible listening to the Eight Track tape player! She said:
"You play my favorite eight track music!"

Mukwonago Midnight Magic
I saw a buddy of mine from high school Saturday night at our Midnight Magic gig. He is now a teacher at Mukwonago High School. My youngest son is in his class. He asked my son what the name of our band was. When my son said, "The Average Basement Band" it brought some snickers from the rest of the class. Then another student asked the teacher if we were an "Average" band and his reply was:
"Oh no---they are very much above average!"
